Welcome and thank you for taking a moment to learn about our exciting and revolutionary product which de-mystifies the ASD-IEP process. Our goal is to unite parents and school districts as colleagues in designing the best and most student-driven goals and objectives for each child’s IEP.

Technical Perspectives, Inc., the makers of the CLASS|BRIDGE Program have provided the tools for creating educationally relevant, clinically correct, and legally defensible IEPs worldwide for over 30 years. What began over three decades ago has grown into one of the most recognized IEP programs on the market today. The CLASS|BRIDGE Program is a vast and comprehensive collection of defined, incremental & sequential student objectives, which when used with the corresponding assessments, create bulletproof IEPs that really work. We are proud to introduce the AUTISM SERIES.

The CLASS Process - How it works:

The whole process starts with simply observing your child’s behavior and documenting your findings on the appropriate CLASS observational assessment checklist found within the CLASS Autism Parent Guide. The CLASS assessment will prompt you as to whether or not your child is exhibiting specific behavior/abilities and can then align these results within a developmental skill sequence to identify the skill gaps needed on the IEP. These findings are documented and used in conjunction with other documentation your child’s school has obtained to build your student’s IEP. You will arrive at the pre-IEP meeting with your completed CLASS assessments to meet with the teacher and other staff members, as a team, to discuss both your findings and theirs. This collaboration with the school staff will soon uncover how best to identify the IEP goals and objectives to create the personalized, effective and accountable IEP that you want and to which you are entitled. If your child’s school has a license to use the CLASS program then selecting goals and objectives based on your findings is even easier. Even if your child’s school doesn’t have a CLASS license you can still utilize the results from your CLASS assessments to contribute to the IEP content. The power of CLASS is the pinpointed assessments which ask the right questions and make the right observations to guide you towards success. Each of the test items within the CLASS Autism Parent Guide book correlates directly to a set of goals and objectives within the actual CLASS Program. Let’s take a look at an actual assessment found within the CLASS Autism Parent Guide book and see how the tested items correlate to a sequence of learner objectives within the CLASS program licensed by the school.

Using this process your child has driven the contents of their own IEP replacing guesswork with solid facts and undeniably improving the results. Now you that you know the function and roles of the CLASS Autism Parent Guide book and the CLASS program school license lets take a look at the different areas of focus.

Areas of Focus:

The CLASS|BRIDGE Autism Parent’s Guide is divided into three separate areas of focus. We have included assessments in the developmental range as well as the adulthood range. Since behavioral challenges often occur all along the growth plane the behavior shaping series applies to all age ranges. from birth to adult. Let’s take a look at specifically what is available:

These series are not included with the CLASS|BRIDGE Autism Parent Guide. We leave the assessment in these areas to the professionals at your child’s school.

    The CLASS|BRIDGE Autism Parent Guide:
Become integrally involved in the IEP development, sharing what you see and know as the foundation of your child’s IEP. Parent’s and administrators may explore this resource together or separately and it isn’t necessary for your child’s school district to own the School License for this to be effective. A growing number of school districts have purchased parent Guides for the parents with autistic children so both parties are working from the same source thus simplifying IEP generation.

    School License:
Have a district-wide procedure for teachers to follow to culminate in the most individual, relevant and appropriate goals and objectives; every time, for every student

Don’t take our word for it. Listen to what others have said:

    The Parent’s Perspective:

Discussion over my child’s IEP can be so adversarial; I forget that we are all trying to do what is right for my child. Many times I feel like I am “at war” over my child’s goals and objectives. I try to come to these meetings as prepared as possible. If we were all working from the same ‘war chest’ maybe it would be easier to see eye-to-eye.
Marie Haley, mother of an elementary school student
using the CLASS Autism Spectrum Series
    The Teacher’s Perspective:

As a developer of individualized education plans, it is both challenging and rewarding to create developmentally appropriate and measurable goals/objectives, especially for my student with Autism. Since Autism is a behavioral disorder, extinguishing undesirable behaviors can seem a daunting task, a chore too big for one educator to handle effectively. CLASS BRIDGE has changed my outlook on behavior management by providing a simple step-by-step guide to influence my IEP decisions.

Assessing students with the AU eligibility can prove to be difficult, especially when pinpointing the various skill gaps that typically exist. The defined and comprehensive scope and sequence that the CLASS BRIDGE program provides has greatly impacted my IEP development, specifically with my students on the Autism spectrum. The program’s testing protocol really helps identify developed areas of strength, areas that are still developing, those frustrational skills, which are areas of needed improvement, and even those uncharted territories, which represent the ultimate goal of where we would eventually like to be academically. CLASS BRIDGE has proved to be a resourceful tool that has allowed me to successfully assess and student, regardless of their disability, and it has assisted me in providing clear, functional educational programming that uniquely fits the child’s individual needs.

    P. Huett PISD
Elementary (K-5) Special Education Resource Teacher
”What sets CLASS BRIDGE apart is their assessment-driven individualized curriculum process. During the student’s evaluation process it is important to really peel back the layers because what you see on the surface is not the complete picture. BRIDGE allows my teachers to do that through the tests. By assessing the student in order to choose Goals and Objectives, the student is actually driving his own IEP Plan from the start. We no longer see “cookie-cutter IEPs” or “course IEPs”. Across the board students are making greater progress because the BRIDGE process guarantees that they focus in on only the most appropriate skill areas.”
